Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning
Introduce the lesson with a short story that incorporates various nouns and ask students to identify them as they listen. Engage students in a brief discussion about their favorite objects at home, guiding them to use descriptive nouns. Conduct a quick game where students list as many nouns as they can within one minute to activate prior knowledge.
Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment
Oral Language: Conduct a listening exercise where students focus on a short passage and identify the main idea and supporting details. Facilitate a group discussion on the passage, encouraging students to use new vocabulary words in their responses. Reading: Guide students in a shared reading activity, highlighting new vocabulary and their meanings as encountered in the text. Ask students to read a short story in pairs and underline all the nouns they can find. Writing: Have students write simple sentences using a list of given nouns, focusing on sentence structure. Organize a creative writing exercise where students write a short paragraph about their favorite place, incorporating a variety of nouns.
