Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning
Recap previous knowledge about a passage. Quick brainstorm: What do you already know about a passage? Introduction to today's objectives regarding a passage. Mental drill or quick quiz related to a passage.
Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment
Recite the alphabet both as a group and individually each day. Distribute textbooks and read texts together and individually. Ask comprehension questions to ensure understanding of the texts. Display and practice reading long sentences from a card as a group and individually.
Phase 3plenary / reflections
Summarize what we learned today about a passage. Oral assessment: Answer key questions on a passage. Learners share one new thing they found out about a passage. Check for understanding and wrap up the week on a passage.
