Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning Revise with learners through questions and answers to review learners understanding in the previous lesson. | Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment The teacher pours a small amount of Warm water into the Clear plastic bottle and learners observe water vapour and droplets on the inside surface. Ice cubes are held against the upper outside of the bottle so the vapour cools and condensation becomes more visible. Groups sketch what happens before and after cooling and use the observations to explain cloud formation and the repeating water cycle. The bottle remains unsealed while warm and no hot water is used. | Phase 3plenary / reflections Use peer discussion and effective questioning to find out from learners what they have learnt during the lesson. |

Share performance indicators and introduce the lesson. | Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment Groups sequence the Printed water-cycle stage cards on the Printed water-cycle diagram and review how water moves through the environment. They examine the Printed photographs of a Ghanaian farm and reservoir and identify how rainfall, groundwater recharge and stored surface water support crops, animals and communities. Learners remove one stage card at a time and predict the effect of disrupting that stage. Each group presents two reasons the water cycle is important in Ghana. | Phase 3plenary / reflections Use peer discussion and effective questioning to find out from learners what they have learnt during the lesson.
