Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning
Using questions and answers, find what learners already know about domestic animals. Have learners mention some animals in their homes.
Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment
Groups sort the Printed Ghanaian goat and pig and chicken photo cards into ruminant, monogastric and poultry categories and justify each placement. They inspect the Chicken feather and eggshell samples and connect them with poultry structure and by-products. Learners match the Printed animal-product cards to the three animals and classify uses as domestic or commercial. A comparison table records feeding, body covering, products and community value for goat, pig and chicken.
Phase 3plenary / reflections
Use peer discussion and effective questioning to find out from learners what they have learnt during the lesson.
