Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning
Engage learners in a friendly conversation about their favorite activities to practice responding to questions and commands. Introduce a fun rhyme or song that includes action words and encourage learners to join in. Conduct a brief sound identification game where learners listen to different sounds and identify the ones that correspond to the letters j, k, and l.
Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment
Oral Language: Role-play a scenario where learners follow simple commands from the teacher, such as 'jump', 'clap', or 'sit'. Conduct a sound matching game where learners listen to words and identify the initial sounds j, k, and l. Reading: Read a short story aloud and ask learners to identify and list action words they hear. Provide learners with a set of action word flashcards and have them match each word with a corresponding picture. Writing: Guide learners in writing simple sentences about their daily routine, emphasizing the use of action words. Engage learners in a collaborative writing activity where they create a short story using action words and naming words. Writing Conventions: Introduce learners to a word sorting activity where they categorize words as nouns or verbs. Conduct a sentence-building exercise where learners use j, k, and l words to form grammatically correct sentences.
