Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning
Begin with a friendly greeting and a song about daily routines to energize the class. Engage learners in a circle time where they share what they had for breakfast to practice talking about their routines. Introduce the letters d, e, and f with flashcards and sounds, encouraging learners to repeat after you. Display pictures of family members and ask learners to name them, emphasizing the use of naming words.
Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment
Oral Language: Have learners pair up and take turns describing their daily routine to each other, focusing on sequencing and clarity. Conduct a class discussion on different family roles and responsibilities, guiding learners to use appropriate naming words. Reading: Organize a letter scavenger hunt in the classroom where learners find objects that begin with d, e, or f. Read a short story that includes family-related vocabulary and ask learners to identify these words during the reading. Writing: Guide learners to draw and label a picture of their family, using naming words for each member. Assist learners in writing a simple sentence about their favorite daily activity, practicing horizontal penmanship. Writing Conventions: Conduct a letter formation activity for d, e, and f, using sand trays or whiteboards for practice.
