Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning
Recap previous knowledge about constants. Quick brainstorm: What do you already know about constants? Introduction to today's objectives regarding constants. Mental drill or quick quiz related to constants.
Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment
Clarify the distinction between variables (changeable values) and constants (fixed values). Define and explain comparison operators: Equal to (=), Not equal to (!=), Greater than (>), Less than (<). Guide students to create a Scratch script that alters a character's color based on a condition. Evaluate comprehension by having students write a logical statement to verify if a user's age is 18 or older.
Phase 3plenary / reflections
Summarize what we learned today about constants. Oral assessment: Answer key questions on constants. Learners share one new thing they found out about constants. Check for understanding and wrap up the week on constants.
