Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning

Introduce the lesson by discussing the importance of gathering facts and ideas from various sources Engage students in a brief discussion about their favorite books and what they learned from them Ask students to share personal experiences where they had to express different meanings using limited words Present a short video clip related to radio/TV presentations and discuss its key elements

Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment

Oral Language: Students will present a short oral report on a topic of their choice, emphasizing the selection of relevant facts Pairs will discuss and answer questions based on a short passage read aloud by the teacher Reading: Students will silently read a selected passage and answer comprehension questions to extract key ideas Group activity to identify and underline modals used in a given text, explaining their meanings Grammar Usage at Word: Students will practice using modals in sentences to express probability and obligation In pairs, students will rewrite sentences from a text, incorporating appropriate modals Writing: Students will write a short essay about a recent personal experience, focusing on clarity and organization Create a script for a short radio/TV presentation, incorporating factual information Using Writing Conventions: Students will revise their essays to ensure proper sentence structure and punctuation Peer review activity to check for the use of simple, compound, and complex sentences Extensive Reading: Students will read an age-appropriate book of their choice and summarize it in two paragraphs Organize a book-sharing session where students discuss the plots and themes of the books they read
