Basic 1 OWOP Term 1 Week 6 Lesson Plan

Play a game of “I spy” with learners using riddles that describes the relative position of various object, e.g. “I spy something that is beside the chair, in front of the bookcase, etc. Play games and recite rhymes that learners are familiar with to begin the lesson. Ask learners questions to review their understanding in the previous lesson.

Learners mention the names of those who are closely related to them, e.g. parents, brothers, sisters, friends and teachers. Learners in groups, talk about the importance of interpersonal relationships and the need to accept everyone, irrespective of where the person comes from. Learners role play healthy relationship with family and friends. For this activity, learners use printed Ghanaian family picture cards, role-play name cards and manila paper to act out family or community responsibilities and record behaviours that build good relationships.

Ask learners questions to review their understanding of the lessson. Give learners task to do whiles you go round to guide those who need help. Ask learners to summarize what they have learnt. Let learners say 5 words they remember from the lesson.
