Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning
Review learners understanding in the previous lesson using questions and answers. Engage learners to play games and sing songs to begin the lesson.
Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment
Learners go on a nature walk to observe and talk about different plants in the environment. have learners to watch pictures of plants in the environment to show forest trees, grassland, maize, cocoa, shea butter trees, rubber, mangoes, to enable learners understand that different plants live in different environments. Learners talk about uses of plants and share the information with the whole class. The uses of plants include food, clothing, shelter, medicine, decoration and shades For this activity, learners use local maize and cocoa leaves, printed photographs of mango and shea trees and exercise books to examine familiar plants, match each plant to a local use and record their findings.
