Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning
Begin with a storytelling session where learners listen to a short story and identify key characters and events. Introduce the concept of superlative adjectives through a fun, interactive presentation with examples. Engage learners in a quick oral exercise where they use superlative adjectives to describe objects or people in the classroom.
Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment
Oral Language: Conduct a class discussion where students ask and answer questions about the main events and characters in the story. Facilitate a pair activity where learners create and ask each other questions to summarize the story. Reading: Have students read a passage from the story and highlight any vocabulary words they find challenging. In small groups, students discuss the meaning of new vocabulary and use them in sentences related to the story. Writing: Ask students to write a short summary of the story, focusing on the main events and using superlative adjectives. Provide a worksheet where students fill in blanks with appropriate superlative adjectives related to the story. Writing Conventions: Teach students the rules of using commas in lists and superlative sentences, then practice with examples.
