Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning Begin the lesson with a question: "What comes to your mind when you think about festivals? How do you think festivals are celebrated in different cultures and religions?" Allow learners to share their thoughts, and list their responses on the board. Share performance indicators with learners and introduce the lesson. | Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment Learners examine the Printed photographs of Christmas and Eid al-Fitr and Homowo in Ghana and identify evidence of Christian, Islamic and traditional celebrations. Groups sort the Printed festival-activity cards under preparation, worship, family reunion, public celebration and community service. They use the Chart paper with markers to compare similarities and distinctive activities across the three religions. Presentations must refer to the photographs and explain the religious or cultural significance of each selected activity. | Phase 3plenary / reflections Use peer discussion and effective questioning to find out from learners what they have learnt during the lesson |
