Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning Begin with a class circle time where students share their favorite word and why they like it.
Introduce a simple rhyme or song that includes words using different sounds for students to sing along.
Play a sound deletion game where students clap when they hear a word that changes meaning when a sound is removed. | Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment Oral Language:
Engage students in a paired conversation where they take turns asking and answering questions about their weekend activities.
Conduct a sound manipulation activity where students say a word and change the initial sound to form a new word.
Reading:

Read a short story aloud and pause to ask students predictive questions and discuss the plot.
Writing:
Guide students in practicing writing their names using both capital and small letters on lined paper.
