Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning
Start the lesson with a recap of the previous lesson. Allow learners to reflect on what they learnt from the previous lesson.
Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment
Groups draw identities from the Printed Ghanaian community-role cards such as chief, assembly member, teacher, health worker, trader and youth representative. They select a genuine local issue from the Local newspaper and discuss what responsibility or contribution each person can make. During a simulated community meeting, the Talking-stick prop indicates whose turn it is to speak and ensures inclusive listening. Learners agree on an action plan and evaluate how individual roles support community development.
Phase 3plenary / reflections
Ask learners series of questions to review their understanding of the lesson
